For sale is a reproduction piece of the WWII German Enigma machine, called the access plate.  The access plate is part of the access roll, and has 26 holes for the passage of 26 contact pins, three holes for three countersunk M3 x 8 mm screws, and the roll shaft. The entire access roll, also called the fixed entry wheel or Eintrittswalze, is made up of 26 brass contact pins, access plate with screws, a steel access ring, and the steel access roll itself, with four M2 x 4 mm screws for the access ring.  This access plate is made of Bakelite, while the earlier access plates were made of ABS plastic.  The ABS was melting when wires were attempting to be soldered to the pins:  Bakelite has a higher melting temperature.  The picture shows an access plate in the body of the access roll (sold separately).  The 26 holes are counterbore.  The piece only weighs 0.3 ounce, but must be rounded up to 1 ounce to meet USPS requirements.
