Reproduction WWII German Enigma Machine Button Medium

For sale is a reproduction button medium [as listed in the blueprints, but we would call it a key stem] that was used with the German WWII Enigma machine. These button medium/key stems are being sold individually. This button is made of Cr12 steel, and comes with a spring and a metric screw and nut. The button medium occupied the middle tier of the keyboard, and that tier used eight (8) button mediums. From top to bottom the button has a slot with two small holes for the insertion of the button head bottom, sold separately. The button head bottom supported the engraved key, glass covering, and the button head top. The metric screw and nut keeps the spring in place after the button medium/key stem is inserted through the contactor plate located underneath the keyboard. When inserted through the keyboard the cutout at the bottom of the button/key stem is facing the operator. The rectangular cutout at the bottom of the button passes through the contactor plate and then a small piece called the anti-twist device abuts against that cutout and keeps the button from rotating on its’ vertical axis. There is a small hole cut in the bottom of the button for insertion of a plastic plug, but the plug doesn’t fit very well into the hole. The original button medium lacked the hole and instead used a very small circular piece of leather to act as a sound dampening device for when the button/key was depressed down against the advance bar. Each individual button medium weighs 0.5 oz and will be shipped either USPS First Class parcel or USPS First Class International parcel for overseas sales. Of course if you buy all eight at once the weight will be 4.0 oz.
