Reproduction WWII German Enigma Machine Shaft Holder

$15.00

Shaft holder.

SKU: 100005 Category:

For sale is a reproduction shaft holder that was used with the German WWII Enigma machine.  This shaft holder is made of 1045 steel. The shaft holder supported the roll shaft, that ran through the center of the rotors, and allowed the rotors to be removed from the machine. The shaft holder is held in place through the left bearing block by three metric M3 screws.  If you bought a left bearing block in the past the largest hole in the bearing block will have to be drilled out by an M3 drill, since the black powder coating reduced the diameter of the hole.  The three small holes are approximately 2.5mm, and it is at your discretion to drill out those three holes with an M3 drill.  In picture #5 you will notice that the shaft holder has a very slight up angle when compared to an inserted roll shaft. You may have to insert a very thin washer on the upper M3 hole between the body of the left bearing block and the shaft holder to reduce that angle. The roll shaft is sold separately. The sale will be of the reproduction shaft holder and three metric M3x10 screws and nuts. This shaft holder weighs 1 oz, and the dimensions are 2-1/2 x 1 x 1 inch and will be shipped either USPS First Class parcel or USPS First Class International parcel for overseas sales.    For sale is a reproduction shaft holder that was used with the German WWII Enigma machine.  This shaft holder is made of 1045 steel.
