Original but incomplete WWII German Torn Fu G radio

For sale is an original but incomplete WWII German Torn Fu G radio. It is listed as incomplete because it is missing the following: radio case; front and rear lids; antenna; the remote control unit; multiple tubes; and radio to case bolt. The man-portable Torn Fu G radio was introduced in 1942, and is both a transmitter and receiver. This particular radio was built in 1945. The radio was mainly used by panzer grenadiers, with the radio operator carrying the radio on his back. The radio was powered by one 2.4NC38 battery. This transceiver operated from 2.5 – 3.5 mHz, with approximate ranges at 25 kms for continuous wave / manual morse and 11 kms for voice transmissions. The radio used seven vacuum tubes: two RL2.4P3; and five RV2.4P700. Accessories for the radio were carried in a storage compartment in the back of the radio case. As you can see in all the pictures this radio is no where near completion or working order. It will require a lot of time and patience to bring this radio back to life, and should be thought of as a Torn Fu G starter kit. The Torn Fu G radio is both popular and expensive, and complete radios will probably sell for several thousand euros. This radio is 72 years old, being sold “as is”, and is not guaranteed to work in either a field or garrison environment. It is a heavy radio at 16 pounds. It measures 6 x 9.5 x 13 inches. Since one of the measurements exceeds 12 inches the US Postal System will consider this an oversize item. With protective wrapping the weight will probably top out at 17 or 18 pounds.
